4. Increase the lighting in your apartment

5. Keep your floors clear

6. Avoid going barefoot or wearing slippers

7. Never use a chair as a step stool

8. Use a non-slip mat in your bathtub

9. Install grab bars next to the tub and toilet – call NYCHA’s Customer Contact Center at 718-707-7771 to request the installation of grab bars in your bathroom
