LOCATION: Lower East Side

SALARY: $12 per hour

SCHEDULES: Monday – Friday (20 hours per week)

Saturday & Sunday (14 hours per week)

DATE: July 6^th 2015 – August 28^th 2015

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Security License preferred or 2+ years of security experience

• Previous youth based/school security experience
• Proven ability to work with various age groups
• Previous experience working with diverse people
• Good conflict mediation and public relations skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills; detail oriented
• Strong time management skills; ability to handle simultaneous assignments with a high degree of accuracy, and meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal guidance
• Can-do attitude and strives to do more for a growing team!
• Bilingual preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet visitors warmly and professionally upon entering, address their inquiries and direct people to appropriate locations
• Maintain daily program attendance logs and all related clerical activities as required
• Document the use and the conditions of each room used by the Beacon
• Manage and mediate all conflicts
• Respond to all emergencies (i.e. medical, unsafe areas, trespassing, altercations, etc)
• Control the flow of traffic so that only those participants scheduled are allowed in the building or into approproaite program areas
• Maintain positive relationships with office and school faculty
• Keep the lobby clear of unauthorized persons, including loitering children, adults, or adolescents
• Keep abreast of what is going on in the program each day
• Manage registration forms and process identification cards for program participants
• Other duties as assigned
