urbandiversThe Urban Divers Estuary Conservancy (UDEC) is a not-for profit environmental & cultural organization committed to active participation in the restoration, conservation, protection, as well as public education for the natural resources of our waterfront. We are a multicultural and international center for environmental education, community stewardship, culture and maritime.

 

Where

UDEC is located at the southern end of Roberto Clemente State Park, NYC Bridge Park and River Park Towers, just north of the historic High Bridge Aquaduct, in restoration.

Every Saturday is Family Walk-in and Kids Day

Children and Parents can participate in fun and hands on workshops -( GoFish- family catch and release fishing, Arts & Carfs & Nature, Animal Habitat Discovery Day, What’s In the Harlem River, Harlem River Monitor Project, or take a guided exhibit tours the centers modest Harlem River Estuarium, and NY Harbors Watershed Habitat to discover, explore and learn about the living nature of our urban backyard, right here on the Bronx Peninsula, or participate in The Annual Great Muscoota River Paddle and Get on The Water Bronx!

 

Urban Rivers Tour

A guided eco-cruise series that offers community members a fun, convenient, and safe way to get on the water to explore and learn about the waterways that are ecologically significant to the Bronx Peninsula as well as the entire estuarine eco-system. Eco-cruises are held aboard UDEC’s unique 32ft human powered vessel, that is historically and culturally significant and are guided by our enthusiastic and experienced environmental educators who offers a fresh perspective on the history and ecology of the environment explored.

 

Summer

During the summer Bronxites are invited to participate in UDEC’s unique Explore Scuba in the Pool and original Underwater Basketball Expo Game. Enjoy an afternoon at the center’s summer outdoor movie screening series – Sunset Movies on the Harlem River.
