The book of Daniel tells the story of a group of Israelites who are taken captive and exiled from their homeland. Stripped of their identity, Daniel and his friends struggle to remain faithful to their God in a foreign land pressuring them to compromise their values. This book explores the challenge of being “in the world but not of the world.” It offers valuable lessons to us today, as we try to follow Jesus in the modern world.
