  • Our mission is to empower at-risk inner city youth to fully maximize their potential as productive and responsible members of society by offering dynamic, team-building music and sports programs that instill the value and fun of education while building strong communities.

At Renaissance E.M.S., we envision a world where all individuals are afforded the chance to maximize their potential, regardless of socio-economic background or ethnicity. We strive to instill within our participants the values of self-worth, pride, commitment, perseverance, and family reverence through academic, music and sports programming, family support and mentoring.

Renaissance E.M.S. has developed music programs that offer youth ages 6-19 the experience and benefits from participating in music education. “We meet the children where they are and guide them to where they want to and maybe never thought they could go”. The Saturday Music Program provides classes in the instrument of their choice. Instruction includes drums, keyboards, bass guitar, audio engineering/production, vocals, guitar and percussion. Also included are quarterly recitals, trips, industry guests, concerts, and tutorial services. Renaissance also has a senior band that performs over 45 engagements throughout the five boroughs yearly. They have opened for the Bronx Day Celebration with their original song “The Bronx is a beautiful place”, sang the National Anthem at a World Team Tennis association event featuring Serena and Venus Williams, and performed with Bernie Williams at the grand opening of the Hard Rock Cafe at the new Yankee Stadium.

The Renaissance Music On Wheels Program (M.O.W.) provides instruments and teachers at twenty public schools/community centers, reaching over 1,200 children per week. A recital is held at the end of each year that features children from the contracted schools for families and invited guest.
